Sports Mid Quarter 4 |
As saving for college and the future is important especially now, most of my income is through my business Hawaiian Blooms. Each week, we cut 250 plumerias which is $125 weekly. We also sell products such as hibiscus and ti leaf.
Kihei Charters largest event is the Luau based towards raising money for our sports program. Layla and I will be giving a sports speech and take charge of the fundraising game. Colleges As colleges have gotten back to me about acceptance, my main choices are between San Diego State University, University of Hawaii Manoa, University of California Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, and Cal Poly Pomona. |
Surfing
In two weeks from now, I have my last surf competition at Kookipa. Sadly, I won't be making finals at Koki because it overlaps with the championship track meet. I started surf season with a win in fifth seed at Flemmings being the first boy to have a final win at KCS. I also have been using my RNF 96 and Sharpeye Inferno. In the surf team we raised over $10,000. Paddling My crew and I made it to states this year in Hilo, which was a lot of fun. Kai, Tiago, Ethan, Logan, Braden, and I placed 16th in the state. Track and Field Halfway through the season with only 5 weeks left, I feel that I still have a lot more personal records to hit. I've ran a 4:28 in the 1500m and plan to hit under 4:20 this week. Our 4x400 and 4x800m team is Damien, Maddox, Byron, and Enzo. A few goals I have is to hit sub 9:50 in the 3000m and under 2:05 in the 800m. |
Sports Semester 1 Post
Currently I have finished my last year of XC, accomplishing a PR around 18:40. I am currently in paddling, training for regattas to make states in Hilo. Currently I am also empathizing track season by tempo runs and focusing on strength. After paddling, starts track and surf season. I also am on track to be captain for both of those.
For me, being Captain means more than encouraging sportsmanship; it means creating lasting friendships, smoothing conflicts, and ensuring everyone feels included. From sports, I have realized that anyone can change someone else's life. One of my closest teammates and I have been running together since freshman year, we've built each other up and pushed through our doubts. In moments of competitive tension, I resolve discontent by relating how we are all working towards a common objective. I was also mentioned in the Maui News for sports spotlight.

So far, I have visited California during fall break with my father, visiting UCI, SDSU, USC, and USD. Out of those my favorite were UCI and SDSU. I have finished my UC applications. I am sending out applications to University of Utah, California State Universities, Loyola, Colorado State and Stanford next week on November 25th. I also have plans to try the transit program in california or UH Manoa. (Ask Hazlet Upon that) Transit Popularity/In-state
