Description of Work/Assignment: This assignment is mainly to create a poster using 5 letters of a nickname or name that relates to you. You had to create your name using lines, planes, angles, parallel lines, Perpendicular lines, and rays. It had to be easy to read, so I color coded mine. This project was graded off a rubric so, I had something to go over and make sure it met the requirements.
Which 21st Century Skill do you feel this assignment addresses, and why?
A 21st century skill I used was thinking and problem solving since when creating this projet no one knew what the outcome might look like so they had to come to a problem they had to solve. SInce I knew that there could be many possibilities per letter, I decided to make a rough sketch and see what works best in certain letters. One example I had is I used parallel lines for the letter B since 2 lines worked better in the letter N. I learned this before I did the final draft so I did not run into this problem later.
What are you most proud of from this assignment, and why?
I’m not the most artsy person so, I was very happy with how nice the final draft looked. I believe I have been quite fortunate in this project's outcome. In the beginning I did not think it would look like that but I was careful so I did not make any mistakes since I was using a marker and it turned out pretty well.
How did you develop and/or improve upon your 21st Century Skill with this assignment?
This assignment improved my 21st century skill (thinking and problem solving) since it was a very open assignment that gave people many difficult choices to make while creating it. I also had to make sure I remembered certain geometry vocab words by searching it up so it also improved your different ways to find a solution.
What was most difficult about completing this task?
While completing this task the most difficult thing I had to do was find area’s to cram in certain angles or lines. When you look at my drawing some of the letters have a bit of a font to them so, I could squeeze in another vocab like on my N letter I added a base for 2 right angles.
How could you improve this work? If you could start over, what would you do differently?
If I started over I would have used more variety of color so, certain vocabs being used could stand out easier. This would make certain definitions in letters easier to find. Everything else I would most likely keep the same.
How does this relate to what you have learned in the past?
In the past I have created many posters that included one definition and a few examples. So, it was kind of similar to this project since you had examples of multiple definitions but you had to be creative with it, kinda like an art collab.
How can you apply this to future learning?
I can apply this to future learning by remembering examples of lines, angles, parallel lines, and perpendicular lines. These words will most likely be brought up again in math and this project will have made them in remembrance to my mind.
